It was so farcical you would be forgiven for thinking the whole thing was scripted to distract us from the build up of US/NATO troops for ‘war games’ on Russia’s borders and the impending onset of World War III…
Her press conference was abandoned by journalists who were compelled to cover the appointment of our latest unelected PM, spymistress in chief, #TwoFacedTheresa May.
Eagle’s fedbook posts were inundated with tens of thousands of fedbook users posting support for comrade Corbyn, (43k on a single post at time of writing). I couldn’t find a single post supporting her.
Her own local branch, the Wallasey Constituency have rightly called for a vote of no confidence to deselect her.
Somebody created this meme, parodying Angela’s vomit inducing campaign materials.
The twitterati also got stuck in, posting things we would rather do than #VoteAngela:
This morning however, reports of death threats and a brick through her constituency office window have ruined the fun for everybody.
Jeremy Corbyn has posted the following statement:
It is extremely concerning that Angela Eagle has been the victim of a threatening act and that other MPs are receiving abuse and threats. As someone who has also received death threats this week and previously, I am calling on all Labour Party members and supporters to act with calm and treat each other with respect and dignity, even where there is disagreement. I utterly condemn any violence or threats, which undermine the democracy within our party and have no place in our politics.
If only his nefarious backstabbing ‘colleagues’ shared Corbyn’s dignity and grace.
